Flash Image Rotator

The Flash Image Rotator enables you to show photos in sequence, with fluid transitions between them. You can use random transitions or select a specific transition. The image sequence is stored in an XML playlist file.

The Image Rotator widget uses the Flash image rotator from Jeroen Wijering and SWFObject from Geoff Stearns. SWFObject makes it easy to add objects to a standards compliant page and also prevents the annoying "click here to activate" message.

Using XML PlayList

You require Adobe Flash Player to view this content

The rotator can be used anywhere in the AssetNow NX site design or directly in page content as shown here.

Image files and the XML playlist file that specifies the image sequence are uploaded as page assets.

The widget syntax is <widget:flashrotator file="playlist.xml"/>. The widget reads the playlist and then loads the images.

Using In-Line XML

You require Adobe Flash Player to view this content

In this example the playlist XML data is placed in the page and enclosed in the xmldata widget. This widget creates a temporary XML file containing the XML playlist data, removes the data from the page output, and passes the temporary file name to the rotator.

Different display time and attributes have also been set on this example.
