AssetNow NX Permissions Tool - Roles

The Permissions tool is used to create and manage user accounts, user groups, and roles. Roles are used to assign applications to users. Typically roles are used to assign AssetNow NX tools to users. Roles can also be used by developers for custom application permissions.

After signing select the Permissions tool from the main menu (top panel). The left panel will display a tree with Users, Groups, and Roles. Expand the Roles item in the tree. This will display user folders which allows you to easily access users with permissions to the selected role.

To list, create, update, or delete roles click the top level Roles folder. A list of all roles is displayed. Roles can be ordered. If a user belongs to more than one role the role with the highest order (appears first in the list) will be the default role they are assigned to after sign in.

Click the new icon to create a new role.

Click the edit icon to display the tabbed form to update a role.
